Well, today's blog started pretty early cause we were instructed yesterday to come pretty early for punishment and education about the difference between Ginger, Galangal, Turmeric, and Kencur. so I went from home to campus at around 6.30 am and arrived at around 6.50 am, after I arrived, I put my bag in the locker and then Chris as our senior called us to come inside the cold kitchen and one line. after that Chris prepared all of the spices and then called us one by one and then ask us which one is which, it's pretty tricky because they all looked the same.
The thing that differentiates between one and another is that Galangal is bigger than the other and had a hard skin, turmeric is smaller than the rest but if you break it, the inside is bright orange and smell pretty strong. the tricky one is ginger and kencur, the looked pretty similar but you can differentiate them by smelling them. ginger smells like Chinese medicine while kencur smells like traditional Indonesian medicine drinks called Jamu. The ginger has a rough skin while the kencur has a smooth skin. after the explanation by Chris. he then left the cold kitchen.
Then Mr.Faisal came in, we supposed to make mini burger today, but he found out that some of our friends aren't disciplined enough and he found the broken stove. well, it was broken since we were still in the first semester, but he blamed us for that. But it is okay because maybe he's just in a bad mood or something like that. it was our fault too for not being disciplined, so he told us to go come and think about our mistake, so then we all went home because we just want to do what Mr.Faisal ordered because he is our leader! , well that is my blog for today, thank you so much for reading, Mr.Faisal if you're reading this, I know you don't like to hear this but we're Sorry, we won't make the same mistake again.
